Requesting a Direct Instruction Proposal Resubmission

Written by Raphael Cardona

When viewing a Direct Instruction proposal, you might find that a key element has been missed or that further precision and clarity are needed from the invited law firm. This guide offers the framework to facilitate a proposal’s resubmission in such instances.

Step 1: Access the proposal

To access a proposal, navigate to the Direct Instruction Index and search for the relevant direct instruction (see Searching for a Direct Instruction). Once you have done so, click on the “Proposal” tab. Alternatively, access the law firm’s proposal by clicking on the link found in the email notification received at the date the proposal was submitted.

Step 2: Request the proposal’s resubmission

To ask for the proposal’s resubmission, click on “Request resubmission” at the top right of the proposal. This will open a modal where you will have to input the reason for the resubmission request. You can use a diverse range of formatting options, allowing you to add hyperlinks, images and tables to provide a comprehensive and visually appealing overview. You can then click on “Request resubmission”. The reason for the resubmission request will now be visible at the top of the proposal.

Step 3: Edit the reason for resubmission

At any moment before the proposal is resubmitted by the law firm, you can edit the reason for resubmission. To do so, click on “Request resubmission” and edit the reason for resubmission in the pop-up modal, before clicking on “Save changes”. The edited reason for the resubmission request will now be visible at the top of the proposal.
