Navigating a Direct Instruction Proposal

R
Written by Raphael Cardona

When managing a Direct Instruction, you need to be able to easily understand the proposal submitted by the instructed law firm. LegalEye allows you to efficiently navigate a law firm’s proposal, by covering the key information presented to you after opening an instruction proposal.

There are several actions you can undertake when viewing a proposal, which are not covered by this guide. This includes the following:

  • Downloading the proposal (see Downloading a Direct Instruction Proposal)

  • Requesting for the proposal’s resubmission (see Requesting a Proposal Resubmission)

  • Awarding the direct instruction to the law firm (see Awarding a Direct Instruction Proposal)

  • Declining the direct instruction proposal (see Declining a Direct Instruction Proposal).

Step 1: Access the Proposal

To access a proposal, navigate to the Direct Instruction Index and search for the relevant direct instruction (see Searching for a Direct Instruction) . Once you have done so, click on the “Proposal” tab. Alternatively, access the law firm’s proposal by clicking on the link found in the email notification received at the date the proposal was submitted.

Step 2: Navigate the Proposal Overview

When opening a proposal, you will first see an overview of the proposal. This includes the proposal’s summary, and all the sections included in the Direct Instruction. You can download the proposal’s attachments by clicking on the download icon in the relevant document’s box under “Attachments”.

Step 3: Navigate the right-hand panel

On the right side of your proposal, you will see key information relating to the proposal and to the law firm having submitted the proposal. This includes the

  • Proposal Bid Amount,

  • Estimated Days of Completion,

  • Law Firm Rating, and

  • Law Firm Information

Step 4: Download documents attached to the proposal

You can view all the documents attached to a proposal by clicking on the “Attachments” tab on the top of your proposal page. You will be redirected to the proposal’s attachments section, where you can download any attachment by clicking on the document’s name or on the download icon on the right side of the relevant document.

Note: If no documents have been attached to the proposal, the “Attachments” section will be empty with the following message: “No Attachments added to this Proposal”.
