Step 1. Click "Create DI"
Step 2. Search and select a template to use
After clicking Create a Direct Instruction, a modal will appear which will show a list of suggested Direct Instruction templates to use. By default the templates displayed to you will be limited to those that are related to both the practice area and jurisdiction on your profile. To search all templates, simply click on the filters and deselect the inputs.
Step 3. Click “Use Template”
After selecting a template to use you will be navigated to the template itself to preview the template. To proceed with the template click on “Use Template”.
Step 4. Enter in key information for your direct instruction such as a title, jurisdictions and practice areas related to your instruction, currency, cluster, business unit, counter parties and any relevant tags to make your instruction easily searchable. By default the Jurisdiction/s and Practice Area/s linked to your user profile will be populated in the Jurisdiction and Practice Area field.
Step 5. Add extra detail to your Direct Instruction
Scroll down the page and add additional information into your Direct Instruction such as a Brief, Attachments, Request for Quote, Key Dates, or any other lead contacts for the Direct Instruction (Guides for each of these sections can be found at the end of this article under Relates Articles).
Step 6. Save the instruction as a Draft or Send it to a Law Firm
