Adding a Scope of Work to your Tender Proposal

R
Written by Raphael Cardona

As part of your tender proposal, you will have to fill out a scope of work which outlines the exact deliverables and activities you will be performing for your client. You can set timeframes, a bid amount, and a proposed fee type and amount for each deliverable and task in your scope of work. This allows your client to compare received proposals uniformly.

Step 1: Access your tender’s scope of work

Once you have entered your proposal’s summary, click on “Proceed” to access the scope of work.

Step 2: Fill in a deliverable

To begin with, fill in the estimated days of completion and bid amount. Now, you can start selecting the relevant fee type and amount for the first deliverable.

Click on “Fee type” and select one of the following options from the drop-down menu.

  • All you can eat,

  • Bundled Service,

  • Capped Fee,

  • Contingency Fee,

  • Fixed Fee,

  • Performance Based,

  • Retainer,

  • Slice & Price,

  • Value Pricing.

Step 4: Fill in a deliverable’s task

Deliverables are broken down into tasks where further granularity in the scope of work is required. You can set a task’s fee type, amount, and input a description and assumption.

Step 5: Add tasks to a deliverable (Optional)

When filling the scope of work, you can add tasks to a deliverable to further break down the proposed deliverable. Scroll down to the end of the deliverable and click on “+ Add task”. Then, type your task’s title and description before selecting the relevant fee type. If needed, add an Assumption to your task. Repeat this process until you have added all the relevant tasks.

Step 6: Add a deliverable (Optional)

In some cases, you might be required to include additional deliverables to the scope of work. For example, if you wish to provide a more detailed breakdown of the activities needed for this matter. To include a deliverable, scroll down to the end of the scope of work and click on “+ Add deliverable”. Then, type your deliverable’s title and description before selecting the desired fee type. If needed, add an Assumption or a description to your deliverable.

Step 7: Edit a deliverable or task (Optional)

You can edit a deliverable or task’s title, by clicking on the relevant deliverable or task name and inputting the relevant content.

To edit a deliverable or task’s assumption, click on the “Edit” button on the right-hand side of the relevant deliverable’s or task’s description or assumption. This will open up the text editor, where you can make all the needed edits before clicking on “Save Changes”.

Step 8: Delete a deliverable or task (Optional)

You can delete a deliverable of a task from the scope of work by clicking on the red bin icon next to the entered fee amount.
