When your firm is instructed, you will receive an invitation to access a direct instruction. This guide will help you become familiar with the initial steps of the instruction process and detail exactly what is required of you.
Step 1: Receive an Email Notification
When your firm is invited to participate in a Direct Instruction, you will receive an email notification with a link to access the direct instruction. Once you click the link, you will redirected to the conflict check screen.
Step 2: Navigate the conflict check screen
On the conflict check page, you will be able to view the Direct Instruction’s:
Counterparties (optional),
Brief, which can be downloaded as a PDF, and
Attachments (optional).
This will help you determine if there are any potential hindrances or conflicts of interests before providing the green light to proceed.
Step 3: Clear the conflict check
To clear the conflicts check, click on the “No conflicts found” option. If a conflict was identified, making your firm unable to participate in the Direct Instruction, select “A conflict was found and we are unable to represent you”. If there are no conflicts, you can leave a comment under the selected option if needed. If a conflict was found, you must provide reasons.
Step 4: Submit a quote/ proposal (only required if a Direct Instruction has an Request for Quote)
Where a Request for Quote is required for a Direct Instruction, you will see a “submit proposal”
